Treatment Options

As our fertility struggles vary so will our need for treatment. We've put together a basic outline of treatments available so that you can get the right treatment for you:

  1. Non donor IVF treatment
  2. Donor IVF treatments (eggs, sperm, embryos)
  3. Surrogacy

1. Non donor IVF treatment

Since most of us cannot take off for 21+ days, we have come up with a shorter stay, thanks to our precise scheduling and coordination. Not only is such vacation more feasible for most, but most importantly, you can be sure that once you travel to the Czech Republic, your treatment is progressing smoothly and the chances of your cycle being canceled (cysts, poor response to drugs, other complications) are minimal. Based on your preference and your protocol you can plan on spending 13-15 days in Czech.

Tests needed:

Blood test for FSH, LH, TSH and Prolactin done within the first three days of a menstrual cycle (starting from a full bleed), less than 6 months old
Blood test for Hepatitis B & C, HIV and Syphilis, Chlamydia less than 1 year old

Tests recommended:

Recent pap smear
Sperm analysis

Pre-treatment prescription:

Any kind of Monophasic birth control pills – this will help prepare your body for the treatment and travel. It is important that your BCP is monophasic (meaning that the hormonal level in each active pill is the same) and you have about two months' worth.

Completed medical questionnaire, covering your and your partner's medical/fertility history. This form will be e-mailed to you together with our contract.

2. Donor IVF treatments

  1. donor eggs
  2. donor sperm
  3. donor embryos

Czech legislation only allows for anonymous donation (eggs, sperm and embryos). No pictures of donors are available. However, you can specify some of the donor's characteristics that are important to you such as: height, hair color, eye color, weight. You can also provide a picture of yourself for the doctors to match the donor more closely to your looks.

All donors are Caucasians ranging from fair to darker skin.

Before a donor is selected for you, about a month prior to your treatment, we'll send you the possible donor's description for your approval: year of birth, hair/eye color, height, achieved education and negative tests.

Thanks to the clinic's extensive donors' database, there is no wait time for egg/sperm donors.

Tests needed:

Blood test for Hepatitis B & C, HIV and Syphilis, Chlamydia less than 1 year old
Trans vaginal ultrasound of the uterus lining (endometrium) 12-14 days from the beginning of the cycle (starting with the full bleed)

In order for a volunteer to be accepted into the donation program (eggs or sperm) they need to first meet strict requirements.

All tests follow The 2002 Guidelines for oocyte donation of The American Society for Reproductive Medicine published in Fertility and Sterility Vol. 77, No.6, Suppl. 5 in June 2002.

Screening and tests include

a) Donor Eggs

Once you are provided with a treatment date, you can plan on spending only 7 days in Czech to complete your IVF treatment with donor eggs, thanks to our precise scheduling and coordination. Partner's sperm used for fertilization can be fresh or frozen.

b) Donor Sperm

Our clinic has its own sperm bank. If you wish, you can arrange for a frozen sperm specimen to be shipped to the clinic from any sperm bank of your choice.

c) Donor Embryos

There are two options when considering donor embryos:

3. Surrogacy

This type of treatment is available with own eggs, donor eggs, donor sperm or donor embryos. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to help you with a surrogate. Couples in need of this type of treatment need to have their own surrogate mother contracted.

Tests needed:

Blood test for FSH, LH, TSH and Prolactin done within the first three days of a menstrual cycle (starting from a full bleed), less than 6 months old (woman providing eggs)
Blood test for Hepatitis B & C, HIV and Syphilis, Chlamydia less than 1 year old (both females)

Tests recommended:

Recent pap smear (both females)
Sperm analysis

Pre-treatment prescription (both females):

Any kind of monophasic birth control pills – this will help prepare your body for the treatment and travel. It is important that your BCP is monophasic (meaning that the hormonal level in each active pill is the same) and you have about two months' worth.

Completed medical questionnaire, covering your and your partner's medical/fertility history. This form will be e-mailed to you together with our contract.
