Donor in vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatment (donor egg, donor sperm or donor embryos/embryo adoption) is a process where donor eggs (fresh or frozen) are fertilized outside of a woman’s body with her partner’s (or donor’s) sperm that can also be fresh or frozen (donor’s sperm is always frozen). Also previously created embryos using donor eggs and donor sperm are part of this fertility treatment – this is most often referred to as embryo adoption since these embryos are stored in a cryobank. Embryos are then transferred back into the recipient’s uterus.
If you would like to get a free, no-obligation second opinion on your fertility, tests done or recommended, please download this medical questionnaire form, complete it with as much details as you have available and email it back to us (firstname.lastname@example.org) for a review by a fertility specialist.
To get all the details on the donor IVF treatment process in the Czech Republic including success rates, scheduling, assistance, videos of the procedures, our commitment to you and discounts and grants we can get for our IVF patients, please visit the related page of our website: donor-egg IVF or donor embryo IVF based on your treatment need.
Czech legislation allows only for anonymous donation (eggs, sperm and embryos). No pictures of donors are available. However, you can specify some of the donor’s characteristics that are important to you such as: height, hair color, eye color, weight. You can also provide a picture of yourself for the doctors to match the donor more closely to your looks.
All donors are Caucasians ranging from fair to darker skin. Few Asian and African donors are available as well.
In order for a volunteer to be accepted into the donation program (eggs or sperm) they need to first meet strict requirements.
All tests follow The 2002 Guidelines for oocyte donation of The American Society for Reproductive Medicine published in Fertility and Sterility Vol. 77, No.6, Suppl. 5 in June 2002.
Screening and tests include
- Personal and sexual history
- Psychological evaluation

Before a donor is matched to you, about 2-3 weeks prior to your treatment, we’ll send you the possible IVF donor’s description for your approval: year of birth, blood type, hair/eye color, height, weight, achieved education , possibly if she has donated before or if she has her own family. We can also inquire about more details about your donor. Thanks to our exclusive agreement and cooperation since the IVF Clinic first opened their doors to patients in 2006, there is no wait time for egg/sperm donors for My IVF Alternative patients. However, scheduling of an egg donor IVF treatment can take at least 5 weeks, depending on your medical/fertility condition, to properly synchronize your cycle with an egg donor and get your uterus perfectly ready for embryo transfer and acceptance.
Tests needed for egg donor IVF:
Female partner: Trans vaginal ultrasound measuring the thickness of the uterus lining (endometrium) and checking the uterine cavity for any possible polyps, scaring etc. 12-14 days from the beginning of the cycle (starting with the full bleed)
Male partner: Blood test for Hepatitis B & C, HIV 1&2 and Syphillis less than 1 year old
Tests recommended for IVF:
Recent pap smear
Prenatal exam by your OB/GYN, mammogram (if applicable)
a) Donor Eggs
Once you are provided with an In vitro fertilization treatment date, you can plan on spending only 7 days in Czech to complete your IVF treatment with donor eggs, thanks to our precise scheduling and coordination. Partner’s sperm used for IVF fertilization can be fresh or frozen. We can also share with you alternatives to traveling to Czech for your IVF treatment for just a day or so.
b) Donor Sperm
Our IVF clinic has its own sperm bank.
c) Donor Embryos
There are two options when considering donor embryos:
- Fresh embryos – donor’s and recipient’s cycles are coordinated and retrieved eggs are fertilized by donor sperm.
- Frozen embryos – donor eggs are fertilized by donor sperm and frozen.
Remember, IVF is very safe and IVF treatments are day procedures. Our In vitro fertilization vacation packages are the perfect choice for anyone trying to conceive a baby.
